Straw Dogs is my third haul through Sam Peckinpah’s amoral forays, and now I’ve made a discovery: In Peckinpah’s movies, the humans are animals and the animals are humans. You will notice both species are severely expendable, but witnessing a death of the first is like putting a rabid dog to sleep. The death of a latter is the greatest tragedy; it’s the loss of the only innocent thing on earth. (continue reading…)
